It’s Time for Some Action!

Boy, are you guys quiet out there. Wake up! wake up! Time for some audience participation!

Zwaggle is all about the community. And we are all part of the community, right? Wait, that would make me the kooky neighbor who goes out to get her newspaper in her robe. Not sure if I like that. Anyway, I’m super curious about your Zwaggle experience.

What have you listed on Zwaggle? I’d love to know what the best thing you’ve ever traded your Zoints for was, and what do you think was the best thing you ever posted? In short, what was the golden ticket for you?

I’ve listed a bunch of books, and I loved them all. It broke my heart to send them on, but I was happy to know that others could enjoy those books as much as I had. I haven’t had a chance to redeem my Zoints, but I’m waiting, none too patiently, for a few pairs of soccer cleats to appear. Soccer cleats are GOLD in my house, and I’d be one HAPPY camper to find those.

So, let’s hear it!

Sites I love - Part 1

Being a mother is a vital part of my life. In fact, it’s the most important part of my life. It colors and affects everything that I do, everything that I think about, and especially my online time. In my quest to be not just a good mom, but the best that I can be, I’m always on the lookout on line for more information and advice. I especially love it when I find a place that covers multiple aspects of life, recognizing that I’m more than the “MOM!” that is frequently shouted, with or without eye rolling.

A new site that I recently discovered and is quickly becoming one of my favorites to read is Work It, Mom! a community for Working Moms . With close to a dozen blogs written on topics ranging from working at home to balancing your career and personal life, with discussions on how to dress for success and how to make your life with kids run just a bit smoother, every time that I’ve been to the site so far, I’ve easily lost myself for more than a few hours. There are discussion boards where you can ask just about any question, a marketplace to list your business, and even member written articles, there isn’t one subject avoided. It’s a treasure trove of information and a wealth of support. Part of why I love, I think, is that its moms helping moms. Kind of like Zwaggle where parents are helping other parents, but with advice instead of by sharing stuff.

Check it out when you have a few minutes and let me know what you think. I’m sure you’ll find me there!

Strange but True

Occasionally, I’ll check around online to see what the strange offerings are. The weird, the unbelievable, the “Whoa, what were they thinking when they listed THAT?” type item. You know, like the bag of yarn remnants with one knitting needle. (Which I actually did purchase, in hopes that I’d be able to use the yarn to finish a knitting project started more than two years ago.) What about the grilled cheese sandwich in a baggie? Or, um, the used nursing pads. Who wants to buy those? Or, maybe you’d be interested in the mummified chicken egg shaped like a skull, the swan shaped pork rind or the prison issue eyeglass case. I know that they’d make my life complete.

What is the strangest, most bizarre item you’ve ever seen available for auction , purchase or trade? Have you ever thought about listing something out of the ordinary - if so, share it with us!
